Drywall dust, sawdust and ordinary household dust spread easily and far away in the house and prevent the tape from being completely sealed, thus creating an unsightly texture under the paint. There's still no house to take paint samples to, so I couldn't check it beforehand and the only other color option was a gentle tan and that was for sure.
